We have watched throughout the years as rightwing evangelical churches turned the Jesus we learned about into the complete reverse of who we understood him to be. At its most basic, they turned a figure of affection into an icon of hate who endorses exactly the harshness that he criticized in the Gospel; this transformation occurred more gradually, across decades instead of months, yet it remains disturbing through similar means, a confusing personal impact for numerous individuals.
A Damaging Christianity Gains Ground

In the fifties it was controlled by dilution – The Protestant faith was so widespread that it basically sanctified existing conditions.
A Conflict for the Highest Among Us
So I have been inspired to see the persistent defiance to Trump develop during the previous year.
